Sea Cat 36 "Ba Fang"

New 36 Metre High Speed ferry

This sleek new passenger vessel is a fine example of what can be offered from the 'Chinese Ferries"group. This Sea Speed (CMCS) designed catamaran was constructed in China is named "Ba Fang" and was delivered to its home port of Xaimen Island China in April 2009. This fuel effecient new high-speed catamaran ferry has proven to be a good solution for the low cost operation including very low fuel burn. The loaded speed is over 27 knots which is very good considering she is only powered by twin MTU 16v2000 engines (1040 kw each).
  A comfortable ride is achieved with the deep vee symetrical hulls also low vibration and the noise levels.This passenger space layout accommodates 194 Passengers on the main deck and 37 vip on the upper deck plus a private VIP room and 1 x 2 berth and 1 x 4 berth crew cabins.
This vessels has been built in Guangzhou (Canton) China by Guangdong Hongshen Shipyard which is a joint venture between Wang Tak and a local shipyard. This shipyard has been operating for many years prior to building the first passenger catamaran.
The standard of construction is high and to CCS (China Classification Society). LR (Lloyds Register) or most other international standards are available. The standard of this end product Fast Ferry is of export quality and is available in a 300 passenger version.
